Pre-Congress Workshops

Pre-congress workshops online now!

Pre-congress workshops are full- or half-day workshops offered prior to the formal commencement of the congress (SIETAR Europa Congress officially starts on May 25th of 2017). The pre-congress workshops will take place from Monday, 22nd to Wednesday, 24th of May 2017 in Dublin!

Pro-congress workshops typically include new methodologies and tools for the intercultural field shared in a participatory and interactive format! The lengths of the workshop vary from half a day to up to three days! Below you find an overview plus details regarding the 7 pre-congress workshops.

Please note, these workshops are NOT included in the SIETAR Europa Congress fees. Participants register and pay for these workshops separately and in addition to the main congress! You can sign-up for pre-congress workshops via our Registration page.

CDI – Cultural Development Intensive. Grow with your shadow?

Join this workshop, dedicated to all professionals, who would like to work on a deeper level! This two and half day intense pre-congress workshop will provide a safe environment for consultants, coaches and trainers to get in touch with their own developmental edge. It is delivered by two experienced facilitators who have all undertaken substantial personal development work, group facilitation training as well as being qualified tutors.

Cultural Detective Certification

The Intercultural Competence ‘Mini-Lab’

Facilitators: Gemma Coughlan and Marcel van der Poel

Join this highly interactive one-day Intercultural Competence Learning Lab (ICLL) pre-congress workshop and learn more about the design, practices and results of the training in an experiential manner. The typical audience would consist of the culturally curious educators of the international classroom, and of managers who want to inspire their team for the same reasons.

Both facilitators are qualified IDI test administrators. Additionally, Marcel van der Poel is a licensed IRC test administrator.

The Neuroscience of Inclusion: New Skills for New Times

The workshop follows multiple goals: at a personal, content and business level.

Successfully Across Cultures. Integrating Design Thinking and Managing Cross Cultural Differences in Projects

Design Thinking is Cross Cultural Knowledge Management or Project Management can be used as tool for Trainers and Managers, who are looking for new approaches of reaching goals while working with groups. Join this half a day pre-congress workshop to go through the main phases of design thinking and work with intercultural factors to find theories and methods for designing education and managing cross cultural projects.

In order for a pre-congress workshop to take place, a minimum number of partcipants must register. In case this minimum number is not reached by April 30th 2017 the workshop will be cancelled. In case of cancellation of a workshop: 1-Registration fee will be refunded; 2-There is the opportunity for participants to register in another workshop. In case of a different workshop selection the price difference between the cancelled workshop and the new selected workshop will be refunded or will have to be paid depending on the case.
